A preliminary meeting is intended to achieve the following objectives:

1. Inform the community about the benefits of a buying group (building on the knowledge of other community solar projects that have reduced information costs for selecting a system, permitting, insurance, audits and rebates and ensured reliable vendors and installers)

2. Clearly describe the economics of solar energy (framed as energy costs being an expense you must incur, therefore why not direct that expenditure back into your home to increase its value and hedge against increases in energy costs)

3. Answer as many questions as possible while referring audience members to the website for questions you cannot answer.

4. Inform the community of the need for volunteers for a steering committee while ensuring them that step by step project development information and tons of resources are available on the Our Power website.

5. Get them to sign up for an email list to receive further information.
