ZooShare - Toronto, ON
Visit The Stop’s Farmers’ Market at Wychwood Barns, and check out their bustling community kitchen, sheltered garden, Global Roots Garden, community bake oven, and compost demonstration centre. Tours of the greenhouse will be offered all morning, and ZooShare — North America’s 1st zoo-based biogas plant — will be the last stop on the greenhouse tour. Their representatives will be available to provide more information about their work and about composting.

Lake of Bays Renewable Energy Co-op - Baysville, ON
Learn more about the Lake of Bays Renewable Energy Co-op (LOBREC) and get a tour of a local energy efficiency straw bale renovation project. The home, owned by two founding board members of the LOBREC not for profit co-op, underwent an extensive energy efficiency renovation project and addition. The project included straw bale and natural plasters, solar hot water, earthen floors and many other energy efficiency and green retrofit details, including targeting Passive House renovation standards for energy use and air tightness.
