Web content is useful, but in order to use it effectively successful community groups have found it beneficial to meet with an experienced Our Power Stakeholder right at the outset of the process. Speakers can offer additional advice not available in the web content that can help prevent major difficulties down the line for the steering committee. Two options exist to facilitate this:

1.Having these speakers present to a steering committee gives the committee a stronger understanding of the phases of project development and how they could be adapted to best suit their unique community.

2. Our Power is currently preparing a web-based presentation or 'webinar' to deliver an overview of the process in a virtual format to reduce travel obligations for those involved.

Speakers are available to present to preliminary steering committee meetings but not public meetings, plenty of resources are available through the Our Power website to help community members run a successful community solar meeting.

If you are interested in having a speaker talk to your steering committee, please email us at: [email protected]
