Both the Federal and Ontario governments introduced the ecoEnergy program in 2007 which offered a $500 rebate from both levels of government to purchasers of solar hot water systems. This rebate was conditional on getting an ecoEnergy Audit performed on your house before and after installation of the solar thermal system. In May 2009, both levels of government more than doubled their commitment to this program.
