Tower Power Meets Again September 16!

26 Aug 2022

Next Meeting

Wednesday September 16, 2009, 7:30 pm

Kensington Market Lofts, Amenities Room, 21 Nassau Street (off Spadina south of College)

First some news. At our last meeting in June, we voted to change the cumbersome name of the Downtown West Multi-Unit Solar Energy Project to Tower Power Toronto. The new name reflects our broader focus of promoting both energy conservation and renewable energy systems in large condos and co-ops.

We also decided to re-organize ourselves and change the focus of our meetings slightly to better serve the diverse needs of our group.

On September 16, our first speaker will be Rosario Marchese, NDP MPP for Trinity-Spadina. His bill to reform the Condominium Act, which passed Second Reading in the Legislature this spring, seeks to provide legal protection for condo buyers AND enable condos to use reserve funds for renewable energy projects.

Our second speaker is Nick Morgan of Morgan Solar, a local start-up that is developing innovative solar electric systems that are less expensive than conventional systems. Unfortunately, Nick was unable to attend our last meeting, so he is looking forward the 16th.

To augment our bi-monthly meetings and better serve condo and co-op residents - especially those who have not attended all of our meetings, a small group are developing a Wiki webpage for Toronto Power Toronto. On this webpage, anyone will be able to obtain basic information and read summaries of the special presentations at past meetings. The purpose of this Wiki is to enable everyone to learn the "basics" without having had to have attended all of our past meetings. Our Wiki, as well as general info about Tower Power Toronto, can be found at wiki.ourpower.ca/Tower Power Toronto Contents.ashx  So please don't hesitate to check out the Tower Power Wiki and get involved in helping us build a great resource.

Questions? Please don't hesitate to contact either of the Project co-chairs below.
